Multi-talented countertenor Aryeh Nussbaum Cohen wowed Merola audiences in 2016 and went on to win the 2017 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. In 2018 he returns to San Francisco as an Adler Fellow. Hear this exciting artist in recital with John Churchwell ('96). Pianist Tamara Sanikdize impressed Merola audiences with her artistry the moment they heard her at the keyboard in the summer of ‘09. She went on to make the same indelible impression as an Adler Fellow and then in her career on the music staff at San Francisco Opera and other opera houses around the world, and as a collaborative pianist working with noted vocalists. Kyle van Schoonhoven’s magnificent voice and vibrant stage presence thrilled Merola audiences in the 2016 Schwabacher Summer Concert. Kyle has gone on to hone his talents as an Adler Fellow and will be covering Siegmund in San Francisco Opera’s Ring this summer. Hear this brilliant young Heldentenor in recital with Maureen Zoltek in the beautiful Victorian home of Emily Marcus in San Francisco. A buffet dinner and wine will be served.

Soprano Andriana Chuchman dazzled Merola audiences in 2005 and 2006 and since then has one on to thrill audiences around the world. She returns to San Francisco Opera this fall to play the leading role of Mary Hatch in Jake Heggie’s It’s a Wonderful Life. Hear this brilliant soprano in recital with our own wonderful Mark Morash (Merola ‘87), San Francisco Opera Center’s Director of Musical Studies, in the state-of-the-art Pearson Theatre.
